Something to do with bus shelter’s

Tuesday morning, I’m walking to town, and it’s raining. Good job I’ve got a new bag then, which has a rain cover. shame it’s orange… the rain cover, not the bag. I’ve got my waterproof coat on, hood up to keep my head dry. I can barely see out of the darn thing tho, so I’m danger of getting run over.

Why’s it raining? It’s June for crying out loud, it’s supposed to be Summer, all lovely and sunny, but no… not here, not today.  I’m not working ’til later so of course it’s raining, typical of my luck.  Bet it’ll be all lovely and sunny tomorrow, when I’m at work all day.

Doesn’t bode well for a good photo session. It’s also quite warm, so I’m starting to sweat a little under all my waterproof clothing…

Having survived the walk to town, meet up with mate, he’s standing around looking all dodgy with his rucksack and baseball cap, plus other clothing thank god, a fag hanging out of his mouth, no doubt reminiscing about the war or whatever it is these old folks reminisce about…

Usual routine ensues, stand around talking rubbish for a few minutes, whilst we have a smoke. Get some food at our usual place, looking around we notice something strange going on, the place is filling up with some very dodgy looking people. What’s going on, I don’t like this, there’s a reason we come here, well a couple of reason’s actually, used to be four reason’s but a couple of them moved on…ehem.

Then the time comes to decide what we’re gonna do today. Matey suggest’s something to do with bus shelter’s…ok, bit weird but I go along with him, don’t wanna upset him now do I? Afterall, he’s probably spent at least 2 mins mulling this idea.

So that’s what we do, but which bus shelter we’re gonna go to. Gotta be somewhere not too busy, preferably out of the way. The countryside would be ideal, but we too far away from the countryside, so a pointless suggestion.

We finally decide on roughly where we’re headed and as we’re walking along we have one of our usual conversations, a bit silly basically, one day we might actually take something seriously… on seconds thought, probably not.

“If we go up to the traffic lights, turn right. Walk up to next set of lights, cross the road. Carry on up that road, we’ll end up at this road.”

“I did not know that, it’s amazing what you learn innit?”

Slight pause.

“So basically, what your saying is… If we go up to the traffic lights, turn right. Walk up to next set of lights, cross the road. Carry on up that road, we’ll end up at this road.”

“yyyeesss” looking at me with a sideways glance.

We find a bus shelter and go about the business of photographing it, running away everytime a bus comes along, don’t want the bus driver thinking we want to get on it.

Didn’t spend a whole lot of time taking pics, cos as it turns out, there’s not alot of stuff to take pics of.

There’s another one just down the road, plus a shop that sells ice cream. Yeah that’s right Ice cream, even in the crappy weather we can’t resist the stuff.

The other bus shelter proves to be even less interesting, so we wander off down the road to see if there’s anything down there worth taking pics of.

We spot an alleyway which leads to somewhere I’m certain…buggered if I knew, pretty sure mate didn’t know either. Great, always on the lookout for somewhere to get lost. Must do, we seem to do it a lot.

As we’re wandering down the alleyway, we stumble upon a little wooded bit. Looked promising, but like most promises it turned out to be a letdown, only got one pic that was remotely interesting.

Further along, on our way back towards the town, we spot a rather interesting gate, which didn’t actually do the job a gate is supposed to do which is, er…provide an entrance. There was a fence right behind it, I’m guessing whoever put the fence there, just ignored the gate.

Then, of course we end up were we always do, at the Bear.

  2. If too many people start crowding into that noshery (especially old people, and odd-looking people, like wot there was Tuesday), and the other… um… reasons depart, we may well have to start looking for somewhere else to get our grub.

Or just get there earlier, before all the weirdos arrive. Er…

  3. You don’t think its us do you? Maybe we attract them. No. Surely not.

  4. Could be that we do. when I think about it, we often find ourselves surrounded by them.
Not sure what to do about it tho, wear a different aftershave maybe (I’d have to start wearing aftershave first mind).
